The Lasting Visual Memory (LVM) focuses on documenting the everyday experiences of traditional artisans by observing, participating, and interviewing them in a naturalistic setting. It is not the intention of LVM to document the artifacts of humankind but to understand and share how actual artisans make meaning of their symbolic universe in everyday lives.
LVM aims to serve as visual memories and references for the understanding of the origin of Singapore culture and the essence of traditional culture. It also serves as a platform for better understanding of local culture material that might reveals Singapore’s relations with China, Malaysia and India. As well as to stimulate interest and open up sufficient conditions for the development needs of the future generations.
